Green Editing
Why Use J Green Editing?
Jennifer Green, Editor
As a career educator, I spent over twenty years helping students hone their craft and find their voices before trading my classroom for a home office--the transition to freelance editing was a natural progression in my personal and professional growth. I enjoy reading for work and for pleasure, and I love helping authors strengthen their writing and storytelling. I first found my love of editing many years ago when a friend asked if I'd read her most recent novel manuscript--I loved the challenge of delving into her fictional world! My background in literature and composition allows me to approach each new manuscript from multiple perspectives including reader, writer, and instructor. I know how stories are put together and how they engage readers.
In addition to BAs in psychology and English from North Carolina State University and Meredith College and an MA in English Studies from the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England, I earned my Editing certificate with a specialization in Developmental Editing from the University of Chicago Graham School. I am also a member of the EFA (Editorial Freelancers Association) and Consulting Editor for The Fictional Cafe,
I live in North Carolina with my husband and two dogs. We love traveling and visits with our adult(ish) daughter.
